Sustainability

At sailor way , we acknowledge that the fashion industry is a major contributor to waste and pollution, which is why we have taken steps to be kinder to the environment. While we acknowledge that there is always room for improvement, we believe that small changes, from fabrics to packaging, can make a huge difference to lesson our environmental impact

our swimwear

From the very beginning, we knew that we wanted our swimwear to be as eco friendly and sustainable as possible- from the fabric and eco friendly dyes, right through to the packaging.
When looking for fabric to create our swimwear, choosing recycled was a no brainer. Our swimwear uses recycled Nylon for the shell and Recycled Polyester for the Lining. The fabrics are made from waste such as discarded fishing nets and plastic PET bottles that may have otherwise ended up in landfill or in our oceans. The recycled materials are broken down into plastic chips, heated and spun into yarns in a process that uses fewer resources (water, energy and fossil fuels) then virgin fabric production. The end result is a soft, durable fabric which is more sustainable and better for the environment
By choosing recycled materials, we can reduce our environmental footprint by giving post consumer waste a second life.
So you can feel good about looking great!

Resort and accessories

This season we have used recycled polyester in our skipper dress and a recycled polyester/cotton in our XL Beach Tote. We also use natural fabrics such as Cotton and Rayon and Eco friendly dyes. Whilst this is a start, we acknowledge that there is room for improvement and are committed to finding greener fabric alternatives across all our styles in future collections
