Transcending Texture

There is no denying that textured swimsuits are here to stay. Humans are tactile beings and are instinctively attracted to the subtle ebbs and flows within textured fabrics. Just as we are drawn to the movement and colours in patterns, we are drawn to the multidimensional aspects of textures.

Textured Fabric in Swimwear

There are many benefits to using textured fabrics in swimwear. Apart from adding a visual element to your suit there are other advantages such as:

- More Stretch. Textured fabrics often have more stretch then regular fabrics. They also usually retain their original shape better then un textured fabrics

- Thicker Fabric. Textured fabrics are often thicker which is especially helpful in preventing your suit from going transparent, as well as helping you feel more supported

- Smooths the body. Although it seems contradictory, texture can have a smoothing effect. As the fabric glides over the skin, the texture can cover any lumps and bumps and make imperfections less visible

Basics don't have to be boring

We all love a good basic swimsuit but that doesn't mean it has to be boring. Adding texture can elevate a classic cut or colour by adding an extra level of interest. Texture also has the advantage of making a fabric look more expensive and high end

This season our focus was to transcend classic cuts and colours through the use of subtle textures. The use of ribbed fabric adds dimension and elevates our 2022 Swim Collection
